Tips On How To Put On A Shot Prom Dresses

Today most girls would prefer to wear dresses in short, instead of long prom gowns, which were the rage sometime back. Short dresses were most often not considered ‘formal’ attire, mostly for parties, including like proms, weddings, gala dinners, balls and the like. However, fashion rules have become more peaceful in the last few decades, and these days, the “little black dress” (LBD) for formal and social occasions, is a must-have in any girl or woman’s wardrobe! However, even though short prom dresses are in, it is important to take into account that not every person can carry off the look. Some suggestions on putting on a short dress on the prom night are listed below:

Not all girls are designed identical and there is no standard “short” dress that will fit all and look good!
The factors which need to be considered are height, weight, body form and type, plus proportions like as bust to waist, waist to hips, upper body to a lower figure, etc.

Girls with the hourglass figure can wear any types and get away with it, given that this is considered to be the ‘ideal feminine curve. However, strapless dresses are the finest selection if you own an hourglass figure.

If you have an athletic build or a beautiful skinny frame with long legs, you can by no means go wrong with any sort of short dress. Sleeveless or spaghetti straps dresses are a fine choice.

Pear-shaped maidens will look perfect in A-line or baby doll dresses– fitted at the top and flowing below the waistline.

Black is the universal favored choice, and one can never go wrong with an LBD. Otherwise, select your short prom gown in colors, which accent your skin tone.

Hemlines are just as significant– tall young girls with athletic build can carry off the gown with hemlines above the knees, but if you are height-challenged or have short, stubby legs, an above-the-knee hemline will do you no good.

Soft materials such as satin or silk are ideally suited for short gowns, although you may also experiment with airy materials such as chiffons in pastel colors.

Accessorize your short gown with the properly shoes, makeup, jewelry and handbags. You will feel and look luxurious in what you’re wearing, so skip the stilettos or high heels if you cannot manage walking in them.

Stay away from short gowns with a large number of embellishments such as sequins, beads, and so on. And if you must have frills and ruffles, keep them short and to the bare minimum. Ruffles are a no-no if you are plus-sized or have a heavy upper body or short, stubby legs.

Plan and select your elegant prom dress well in advance, as a last minute rushes mean you might end up making the bad alternatives or the dress you were yearning for is no longer available!

Look for expert advice from shop personnel or close family and friends who will never steer you wrong!

If you have the time, money and patience, get your short prom dress made to order, or make it yourself if you’re talented with a sewing machine.

Just keep in mind the recommendations listed above and your prom preparations will flow swimmingly without any hiccups!
